This is more or less a pointless post, other then to tell you I'm actually working! i know, i too am in shock.
Ive got the sand paper, and have been trying to smooth out the rough spots and get rid of the rust. i was not even half way done and i was covered from head to toe in rust dust. yuck. lets hope the paint that is coming off isn't harmful!
alas, no pictures today! ill try and snag some tomorrow!

Only God and Mother Nature can rip us apart!
Ain't that the truth! some parts of the stickers come of really nice, and those are the parts that were exposed to the elements. otherwise i was scrapping off sticker, paint and all!so all of the stickers are scrapped off. didn't take me as long as i figured. im going to take the tires, gears, chain and seat off before i sand down the rust spots and parts where the paint was scrapped off from me trying to pry the sticker off.
i probably wont take all that off until:
- i have more room to work, so clearing more crap out of the garage, or moving crap around.
- have the tools, or can at least find the tools.
- have the sand paper to sand down all the rust and scrapes.

The beginning is always an illusion of an ending.
Ive always wanted to do this, take a bike strip it down and paint something new and unique on the frame. and i finally get to!
my dads old bike was given to us in the early 80 by my aunt, who's son once owned it. now when he bought it we are unsure, but it is an old CCM bike (CCM stands for Canada Cycle & Motor Co. Ltd. thank-you Wikipedia! for more info on CCM click here ) he rode that old bike till about two years ago when we finally decided to retire his CCM and my Supercycle and drop some money on a smoother ride.
the 2 bikes were shoved out of the garage and under an old crab apple tree where they weathered snow, rain, rotting apples falling from the tree, and the aftermath of the digested rotten apples from birds. The supercycle was then stolen and trashed while the CCM stayed and was half assembled to become a spare bike. but like all things we start, we forgot about it. and there is stayed not only collecting webs but rust as well.
finally one day while cleaning out the garage we found it again and lugged it outside. i noticed that the paint was all chipped and scraped, rust spots formed everywhere, and half of the stickers were pealed off. i figured it would be a great canvas to try and do some neat design on.
so i did what every other kid does. i waited till my dad was really busy, then asked him if i could paint the old bike and have him help me put it back together. he said yes, trying to get me out of his hair.
and that's how it started!
the bike has no handle bars attached, and i think the brakes are also gone. the gear changers are just hanging all over the place. pain in the arse to try and maneuver around.
